BAC WATER 3ml
What It Is
BAC water = short for Bacteriostatic Water for Injection — a sterile, highly purified, non-pyrogenic water solution containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol (9 mg/mL) as a preservative. Supplied in a sealed, multi-dose glass vial with a rubber stopper.
Ingredients
• Water for Injection — ultra-pure, sterile, endotoxin-free
• Benzyl Alcohol — 0.9% w/v (the bacteriostatic preservative)
• pH: approx. 4.5–7.0 (typically ~5.7)
How It Works
The word "bacteriostatic" means it stops bacteria from reproducing — it doesn't necessarily kill them outright. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol creates an environment that inhibits bacterial growth, so every time you pierce the vial with a needle, contaminants can't multiply quickly. This lets you reuse the same vial for up to 28 days after first opening, unlike plain sterile water which must be discarded after one use.
